The best hotel area is the one that reduces travel for your actual itinerary. “Downtown” alone is not enough information.
Union and waterfront
Strong for airport rail, sports, CN Tower and short first visits. Event noise and pricing can be high.
City Centre and Yonge
Broad transit access and many hotels, but the experience varies significantly by block.
Yorkville and Bloor
Useful for ROM, shopping and subway access; generally more upscale.
Neighbourhood stays
West or east neighbourhoods can feel more local and may offer quieter streets, but add travel to major landmarks.
