ROM is one of Toronto’s largest museums and can easily become the main activity of a half-day.
Choose a focus
The museum’s broad collection makes it easy to wander without priorities. Review the floor plan and current exhibitions before arrival, then select two or three areas.
Time and fatigue
Two to four hours is common depending on interest and mobility. Families may prefer a shorter visit with a clear target rather than attempting every gallery.
Nearby planning
Queen’s Park, Yorkville, Bloor Street and the Annex are nearby. Avoid combining ROM with a distant outer-city attraction on the same half-day.
Current checks
ROM hours and temporary exhibitions change. The museum also runs periodic free programs that may require advance tickets. Use the official visitor-information page.
